The Licensing Act 2003 (Mandatory Licensing Conditions) Order 2010 Passed

The house of Lords has passed an amendment to the current licensing laws.  It is now a legal requirement for the vendor to ask for photo ID if someone appears under the age of 18.  This law will come into effect on 1st October 2010. The law has been critisised by Liberal Democrat Baroness Hamwee who described the drafting as “poor”.
